Well, at least that tree wasn’t knocked down by George swinging on a vine. (I wonder if Main Street is the second most common U.S. street name.)

My daughter found the only tree for miles with my car’s front bumper. She’s fine. Bumper not as lucky.

We have a lot of those “Professional Truck Drivers” like that here in St Louis. Can’t see trees, cars, other trucks, people, buses, speed limit signs, traffic lights, you name it, they can’t see it. They could very well be qualified to be Major League Umpires if they ever loose their CDL!

It is obvious that the reason why “1st St” does not rank first is because so many towns have another name for the first one in order. Sometimes it is “Main Street,” sometimes “Broadway,” and probably a lot of other less obvious possibilities.

There’s no ‘J’ street in Washington D.C. There’s every other letter, but no ‘J.’ The reason that came to be was not to scorn John Jay, the first Chief Justice of the United States, but because the ‘I’ and ‘J’ looked so similar in the form of writing at the time, that people would have been confused.

2nd is probably most common since “1st” must be split between “1st” and “Main”

I heard that tree was replaced with a metal sculpture to honor it.

Street: 1st Street tends to get renamed to Main Street, Central Street, or such..Tree: Iconoclasm is not dead.

Man with a tail? Makes you wonder is some animal DNA got mixed in there somewhere or maybe some long since dormant caveman gene got switched on.

I get it, the high traffic central street is something like Main, Maple, Oak, Broadway….the next street over is 2nd st.

I see the Acacia tree and it often reminds me of Africa and the movie “The Gods Must Be Crazy”
