but all that “human” energy was originally generated by the Sun, collected via photosynthesis by plants and released by the human body via respiration.

Maybe global warming is because we have too many people. Time to start clearing out death row.

Not to worry. Mother nature has a way of thinning the herd from time to time.

Their concept is bogus. We do generate heat, but consume a lot of energy to do it.

You don’t “consume” energy.You simply convert it in to some other form.A power supply that gets hot, is said to “waste” energy, simply because it’s generating heat. The heat is energy, converted from electricity.

I believe the bit about the sun, is speaking about the total weight of the sun, and how much energy is actually “converted”. Which would be a small fraction. (since the entire sun is not generating anything, it’s just gas, burning slowly)

The key term here is “pound for pound”.
