Mighty mite! The tiny moss mite Archegozetes Longisetosus can resist 1180 times its own weight. That's like a human holding an airliner! Plovers pretend to set on nests that don't exist in order to distract predators from their real nest. In 1863, during the US Civil War, 10,000 soldiers from the Confederate Army had a giant snowball fight on the frozen Rappahannock River in Virginia.

There is film footage of GI’s having a snowball fight during the Battle Of The Bulge WWII..I can’t even imagine..considering how my dad who was there..and reading his letters.. telling us all he wished for Christmas was a dry pair of socks..

Someone said as creatures get larger, the strength of muscle increases in proportion to their cross sectional area, but the mass of muscle increase in proportion to the cube of the length of the creature. So, larger creatures can “lift” heavier objects, but the ratio of the maximum they can lift to their body mass is less.
