I’m not afraid of pandas, so I’d let that species show up at my picnic.

Merry Hell can’t top the town names of Onancock and Assawoman on Virginia’s eastern shore.

Panda Ants are a species of the velvet ant but live in Chile and Argentina, so there’s not much chance you see one of those cute little guys at your picnic.

But the velvet ant that we have in the US is also known as the cow killer because of the intensity of its sting. It’s red and black and relatively docile, until you do something to upset it.

When I first moved to the south, I found one in my back yard. I thought it looked cool and picked it up to get some pics of it. I did a little searching on the net and found out what it was, I’m glad I wasn’t stung and extremely grateful they are docile… They are still very cool looking.
