Pasquale: I've been circling this forest for hours...
Pasquale: Only the squadron leader knows the true purpose of this mission!
Pasquale: They all look the same from space...
Rose: Let's put this one on the "maybe" list!
As a kid I never enjoyed the buying of the tree. It was always in the evening after Dad got off work. The temperature was always below freezing and it was always breezy. Dad knew the owner and they would chat, out doors, for what seemed like all evening. For some reason, I’ve always preferred the artificial trees.
Granted, I have used an artificial tree, but I have also considered trees with root balls. Our neighbors have done this for years and have many beautiful trees. Considering the Global Warming problem the future generations may breathe easier with more trees. An attractive living oxygen giving CO2 absorbing tree of equal cost is better in an abandon lot than an expensive dead tree in the city dump.
Metallic trees were real!? I thought Schultz just made them that way to represent artificial trees. I was only a little girl in the 60’s & we always had a real tree.
Lucky him. He won’t wait to decorate the tree. In my family, we were fetching the tree in the forest. After that, the tree had a quarantine of 2 weeks in the basement to dry a little. Only after all that we could decorate the tree.

Go to YouTube, “Rose is Rose” readers, and find “The 12 Pains of Christmas” (the first thing thereof is finding a Christmas tree).

we used to get a real tree until 1959.a 1957 set of lights took the tree and a tacky 50’s parlor set with it.
