The squirrels by me eat the pumpkin flesh since I remove the seeds to make Jack-O-Lanterns. They must be union squirrels, seniority decides how much work they’re doing.
I work in a warehouse with seniority and a union, amount of work has nothing to do with the union and everything to do with seniority. Seniority only gives those with more time spent in the company the ability to choose a job position everyone would want before someone who has just came into the company from taking. You would think that someone who has for example 30+ years aka a third of their life if they are lucky should lose out on a position vs someone who just came in the company or someone with like 3 years? I think not and by the way im the one with 3 years lol. Seniority is a call the company decided to have, NOT the union, only things the union do for us is fight for our health benefits when the contract is up so we can have decent health care and also to represent us by knowing the contract between employees and the corporation for keeping jobs if the violation is weak enough, such as attendance or performance. Which also have probationary times to have a violation removed such as 6 months for a attendance or 9 months for a performance write up. If you think we are weak and need a union because of that then lets see YOU lift 200 boxes per hour that weigh up to 100lbs and stack them on a pallet and race around on a pallet jack vehicle that weighs 4k lbs without the boxes falling at 7mph plus avoid being hit by anyone else doing the same thing with up to 100 people in a dept, 10 hours to 12 hours up to 6 days a week. I find it hilarious that most of the people who talk trash about unions, aren’t in them or never have been in them in the first place to begin with, therefore not having any first hand knowledge or experience.

Better the squirrels get them than neighborhood kids smashing them in the street.

My squirrels have never bothered any of my pumpkins. Until I saw it on this strip a couple of years ago, I never knew they liked them.

Sharon Hayes: Mainly, they like the seeds – especially if the seeds are in the bird feeder.
