That could be a fun end of the year project for a math teacher. Give the kids a vacation budget and they can pick anywhere in the world to spend that money but they would have to plan for the travel expenses, food ect. This would cover geography, math, a bit of home econ(budgeting), and fosters a kids imagination. Depending on the age group to do this with you could have them use realtime costs or supply them with just a few places they could go to but then have to research what they could do once they reached the area.
