On the other hand, strawberries rather than turnips may have made the difference.

They’ve ruined turnips they don’t taste the same as they used to. Same with Rutabaga.

I am of the anti-turnip faction….Stop all support of turnips, radishes, beets and rutabagas!

Today it’s turnips, tomorrow he has tomatoes, after that he’s got strawberries, cantaloupe, watermelon and corn on the cob in no particular order as he likes to surprise his customers

Turnips are great…they are a low-carb substitute for potatoes.

The sad thing is tomatoes for $6.00 a lbs at the farmer’s market and 99 cents at the big box store.

Given how much Clem is probably charging for each glass of lemonade, buying three turnips to take home is a better thing to do.

What’s really surprising, though, is that both stands are still open and that Clem, who is a known hog, is actually sharing his lemonade regardless of the fact that he is being paid for it.

OK, I should like to know what the big deal is in the last panel? What, I’m supposed to support my local turnip farmers? What about my local lemon growers? Don’t they deserve to sell their produce?
