I refuse to refill the bird feeders any more this year.
I went through an entire 40-lb bag of mixed bird seed in just 3 weeks. I can do without spending more than $20/month to attract squirrels and encourage them to overpopulate my neighborhood.

We feed our backyard squirrels peanuts. That fills their tummies, and they leave the birdseed alone.

Birds are very sloppy with birdseed, they scatter it everywhere. They spill more than they eat! The spilled seeds attract mice and vermin.

An influx of cowbirds the last three weeks has made my feeder useless. I refuse to waste money feeding them.
