I once had a close call with the Oregon Highway Division.
Reminds me of when a co-worker had a bandaged hand and kept making up new, unserious stories, such as “I fought with a guy who beat up two policemen,” to tell any customer who asked. (In reality, he told me, he’d punched a wall in anger.)
