When I was in grammar school there were lots of b-grade movies that featured death by quicksand where the victims sank slowly out of sight screaming all the while. Fortunately that’s a Hollywood invention and never happens in reality…..whew!
I’ve been trapped in beach sand— a loosly filled hole as the tide comes in. A bit scary for a moment before I pulled myself out. Also, a construction area in mud up to my knee. I almost lost one of my Wellies. A neighbor pulled me out by holding out a rake.

I knew a guy who had twin cousins, both named ‘Andy’. He told them apart by calling them “Quicks” and “Slows.”

Another metaphor for 2020-21. Sigh.

Damn. The one thing that gives me nightmares: quicksand.
