@bibliotechnique I was in your shoes not too long ago, and some nice people helped me out. I’m still just a beginner. Unfortunately, my system crashed recently and I lost their instructions, which I had saved, so these tips may be incorrect. Maybe someone can jump in.1) Easiest way: just copy and paste notes from someone else’s post. (If you need help with that, let me know.) 2) You can use Alt codes if your keyboard has a numeric pad. (mine doesn’t) The numeric pad is the rectangular grouping of numbers at the side of the letters, not the horizontal row of numbers on top of the letters. Press and hold down the Alt key, while typing the number 13 or 14 on the numeric pad. When you release the keys, the note should appear. ~ (Google “Alt codes”. There’s lots of help there, and charts showing hundreds of possibilities. I’ve even come across a method to use alt codes if you don’t have a numeric pad.) 3) Use the character map. (This is the info I’ve lost. Also, it’s for a PC, not necessarily a MAC) Go to the bottom of the screen and click on “start”, then"all programs", then “Accessories”, then “systems tools”, then “character map”. A list of fonts should appear. I use Arial Unicode MS. It has most of the symbols. You select a symbol, copy it, then paste it into your post. (I may have some of this wrong, since I lost this info.) Hopefully, you can use method 2, #3 is more complicated. My son set it up so the character map is an icon on my desktop, I just have to open it, but I have no idea how he did that. Sorry this took so long! The take away is: Alt 13 and Alt 14. Good Luck!
