In one of my old Shoe cartoon books, Roz admits to using the Cookbook for the U.S. Third Army. She just has to remember to divide all the ingredients by 200,000.
In the science fiction novel A Just Determination by John G. Hemry, the crew of a U.S. spaceship celebrate the New Year by shooting a holiday fruitcake out into deep space “as a warning to all the universe of the awful culinary weapons available to the human race.”
I find it most interesting that most people who speak of the Geneva Convention have little or no knowledge of the series of meetings, the way some sections were created, who actually signed which sections, and what was actually touched upon or included in the different signatory sessions. Biological weapons were not actually included until 1972, and like much of the material in the various sessions, China signed the Geneva Protocol in 1952 and finally signed the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention (BTWC) in 1984. A meatloaf, being non-contagious, is not included in the protocols.
Seriously, read A Memory of Solferino by J. Henry Dunant and get a handle on what real life wars were like— and still are.
It starts with Meatloaf, the Chinese reply with Chow Mein, & so on & so on, culminating in a U. S. response of Grits & fried turnips. When will the madness end!?!
