These days, the intelligence services have enough on their plate just keeping up with all the politicians’ lies. It’s no wonder a terrorist plot might slip through their fingers.

The elected ones are only a drop in the bucket. The vast number of bureaucrats are an even bigger problem. Time for a major reduction in government size.

to quote a standard answer for a cushy job – - – it’s a “tough” job(finding any intelligence) but someone has to do it.

Intelligence Analysis in Washington, i.e. CIA, NSA, and MI, analyze information on foreign activities not domestic activities, at least they better not. In this instance intelligence is a misnomer.
