Andrea@home I’m as confused as you are. Some unseen person named Lee who the rock thrower just missed? It’ll be interesting to see if the men who post here find it really funny.

It is always nice when your local vandals or assassins call to check on the quality of their work in a survey.

I’m afraid I DID think it was funny. There’s Lee on the sofa, just missed by the rock. Yet the phone conversation sounds like any typical phone call where “you just missed” the person you were trying to reach. Of course, explaining it takes off the edge a bit.

Lee is the sofa king, and this comic is sofa king funny.

Yeah, I agree with those who laughed….And several have already explained it, and done well, I think.

But as people are still asking….I’ll further ruin the joke with yet another explanation….

The wife. meanwhile, answers the phone… in a way that usually means the caller asked to speak to “Lee”

Then we realise that it must be the rock thrower, asking whether he hit Lee.

What makes it funny is catching ourselves in an assumption of meaning…

and also the excess of courtesy on the part of both attacker and intended victims.

I think the best part is the “sorry.”
