Current informal English grammar allows one to elide the relative pronoun “that”; in this case, including it would have made the sentence easier to parse: “…dividing into one real cell and one cell that it wants the world to see on social media.”
That just confirms what I’ve suspected. Our DNA includes the inclination to present only our good side to the general public while hiding the ugly stuff.
