I’ve always thought that “hunter / gatherer” was one thing. Even if you set out carrying your spears and atlatl, I bet you would gather whatever you found… or at least mark it for later gathering. Similarly, if you were out with the harvest party and spotted a tasty animal or bird, I bet you’d at least try to pot it with your slingshot or net it or whatever.
