An article the other day mentioned his father stating the NCAA should provide a “handler” 24/7 for this kid. I think the father should have provided some parenting for him while he was growing up instead of teaching him that as a start athelete, he is not responsible for his actions. Prison guards do a nice job of “handlers” 24/7….
All too common among a LOT of people, whether they’re athletes or not. I’ve got a stepdaughter and three grandkids who all think the world owes them a living. The phrase “thank you” is not in their vocabulary.
That may be the character’s “characterization” of the incident, but doesn’t the kid live in the real world, where “laws” prevail, not the make-believe of sports where the rules can be bent or overlooked in favor of ability or gate draw?
Oh, wait a minute, then there’s the condition of “affluenza.” Never mind.
