So turnstile clicks should dictate who a coach plays and for how many minutes? Should the Spurs should fire Gregg Popovich and replace him with their sales manager?
I understand the frustration of fans who buy tickets thinking they’ll see certain stars play, but coach’s contracts are usually predicated on wins/losses, not profit/loss statements, and it IS a long season. The NBA learned from the ABA how to market its stars rather than its teams, but it still says “Oklahoma City Thunder” on the tickets, not “Kevin Durant” or “Russell Westbrook.”
