When you consider the popularity of baseball in Latin America, Japan etc. and that many NL & AL stars would be representing their country of origin and not the U.S.A.,,,,It might – if you like baseball – be worth watching.
I played goal in team handball back in school. Nothing like stopping shots from guys raring back to the floor before throwing the ball. Great sport.
As for baseball in the Olympics, it’ll probably be similar to the World Baseball Classic. With the 2020 Games in Tokyo, people WILL be in the stands…baseball’s been a mania there for decades.
It’s a right insult to have such idiotic non-sports as synchronized swimming or rhythmic gymnastics as Olympic events, but not baseball. Besides Japan, it’s popular in South Korea, China, and Taiwan (and of course Latin America). Seems like a lot of potential TV viewers world-wide…….
Olympic baseball is a joke: MLB does not take time off or release players for it. Our 2008 team was 23 minor-leaguers and a still-in-college Stephen Strasburg. If it’s not going to include the best players in the world, then it shouldn’t be an Olympic sport.

I would rather watch Team Handball (European or American) or even Paddleball before I watch Baseball

I gave the Team Handball games a view. Soccer with grapefriuts! It did look like fun.
