I’ve seen a wide receiver or two flop to draw a pass interference penalty. The slightest contact and they spin like windmills. Julio Jones did it last week in the Atlanta – Minnesota playoff.

Anyone else ever notice that this strip is entirely verbal and doesn’t need drawings at all? I’m not complaining. I like most of the jokes. I’m just commenting. The strip could just feature the same unchanged drawings of of the heads of the various characters every day, and everything would be fine. For example, playing cornhole in today’s strip isn’t needed.

If the NFL wants to make Thursday Night Football less dangerous to their players (assuming that matters to Roger & the Ole Boys), arrange the schedule so both teams are coming off their respective bye weeks and use that slot as a showcase for all 32 teams over the course of the season. Just try to make them competitive matchups. People may not object to watching the Cleveland Browns once if they’re playing another bad team (e.g., the Colts) and have a snowball’s chance in Hades of winning.

Steve Spurrier was a master flopper when he was the 49er’s punter. The former Heisman winner took less than 100 snaps as a back up QB.

Thursday night - Have the two teams who play on a Thursday night have the previous Sunday as a bye week. The schedulers can do this, it’s not rocket surgery.

Like you’d play on Sunday, the 1st, and have Sunday the 8th as a bye and then play on Thursday the 12th and then have your next game on Sunday the 22nd. This happened to the 49ers the year they won Superb Owl XXXIX. The CFL is lengthening the season by 1 week and giving that week to every team as a bye week starting this upcoming 2018 season, everyone will have 3 bye weeks and other scheduling reforms.
