Fact: the last three seasons José Ureña has, by far, led the leagues in beanballs. He didn’t need to try to bean that guy because it comes so naturally to him. When it happened, whose acting was better? Ureña’s terrible “I didn’t do it on purpose” routing or Acuña’s fake “Oh, I’m hurt” stuff?

A friend of mine tried out for the Cubbies. He didn’t make it. Still, he threw a wicked ball. He bounced one off my leg once, and I thought my leg was broken. I think of that moment whenever I see a player take one in the head.

I had forgotten about that…and the weak response MLB gave in only giving him a 6-game suspension…

I could never understand why Acuna getting hit was deemed so much worse than Judge getting hurt and losing part of the season by an “errant” pitch. Both pitchers should have been banned for the season

I’ve been baffled by voters plenty of times before, ranging from the Emmys to the Oscars to politics. But this year’s SJOY? Wow. So far, I have to wonder how many voters were hit with beanballs……..

Hard to quarrel with the choices so far.

Not a beanball, it wasn’t at his head
