April is a little soon for the vaccinations to be completed. While pro athletes do get a lot before the average citizen, I think those w/o pre-existing health issues will be near the end of the list because they are healthy and younger.
I wonder how they are going to conduct Euro 2021? Hundreds of thousands fans, crossing multiple borders and packing not only the stadiums but the fan parties outside the venues is going to seem like Mardi Gras stretched out over forty days.
Did anyone catch the interview with NFL commish Roger Goodell last night? Does anyone believe the baloney about allowing Pittsburg to postpone a game while denying the Broncos? Hilarious.
I expect the first month or so might still be restricted, but it’s looking better with every report from the various vaccine projects. Of course, all of this is premature speculation, I expect we won’t have a good handle on how Spring/Summer of 2021 will play out until late February at the earliest.
The problem is, “regular” people aren’t going to see the vaccines before March or April, and there’s a 2-dose regimen, with the 2nd dose a month after the first. This assumes Nothing Will Go Wrong. How long will/can it take to get a critical mass of people vaccinated? Then, prove you’ve been vaccinated and can safely attend a game, or ANYTHING in public.
I want to go back to a real, live baseball game as much as anybody else, as long as it’s not a super-spreader event.

We can hope. The fake crowd noise (and the cardboard cutouts!) were just…creepy.
