I had a little rescue kitty, Lucy Furr, who came from a “troubled” background and had PTSD (anhedonia, nightmares). Her sleep was generally disrupted; I never saw her chase mousies in her dreams.
I always knew she’d had a nightmare when she’d leap up from a deep sleep and dash across the room with a squawk.
Gradually, over several years, the nightmares decreased. Such a sweet girl she was.
