The American people have delivered a message to their public officials. Man: Voters want a democratic president to keep the economy strong and a Republican congress to keep taxes low! Strong Opinions are Passe! Moderation, stagnation and gridlock are the order of the day! Man: Americans are sick and tired of confrontation! They just want to be left alone! Woman: Right you are, Dan! Al D'amato has dropped the whitewater investigation. Clinton promises cooperation. The voters want consensus, so consensus they shall have! One minor point: Most people didn't vote.
