They gave the best weeks of their lives... now it's time to honor veterans of foolish wars The invasion of Panama dragged on for 2 weeks... 2 weeks that changed the lives of 24,000 U.S. troops. I blew my Christmas break blasting Ol' Pineapple face out of the Vatican embassy, but for what? They called me "ant killer" when I got off the plane at LAX! Tear-stained face graphically altered to maintain dignity. 1,900 marines lost some Springsteen tapes (and their innocence) on the sandy shores of Grenada during 6 harrowing days of 1983. Sadly, their sacrifice is as forgotten as boy George. Try working, relic! Panama. Grenada. Somalia. All of these foolish wars were dumb, lame or immoral or all of the above - but the men and women who fought in them deserve our thanks. After all, they helped preserve our way of life. I was a peace-keeper in Bosnia. Have sex with me! You're obviously suffering from post-moronic stress syndrome. Shockingly, congress refuses to fund the national foolish war memorial. Pick up the slack - and show your appreciation for veterans of foolish wars! What was it like? Like a bad vacation. Send cash to: Ted Rall POB 2092 NYC 10108
