("I'm a big football fan, but I have to tell you, if I had a son, I'd have to think long and hard before I let him play football." -pres. Obama in an interview about football injuries.) This prompts the question: would Obama let his son go to war? It's no longer an academic issue now that women can be combat troops. (Barack Obama: Malia?) (Malia: It's perfect for me: I'm going to Mali!) Injuries from war are likelier and often worse than football. Unlike football, however, war disproportionately kills and maims the children of the poor. (Barack Obama: I'm a big fan of war, but I need to think long and hard...) Thinking "long and hard" it seems, doesn't include our kids. (Barack Obama: Or Pakistanis' kids. It isn't personal.) (Man: Missile away.)
