I remember, as a youngster, that Coors wasn’t available on the Eastern Coast of the US. Naturally, you want things that you can’t have. Imagine my surprise while on a trip to the PX with Mom, that Coors was available to our military service people. We left with a couple of cases and I had a great party! We were 17 & 18 at a time when 18 was legal drinking age. Nobody drove either. Parties were all night camp-outs with huge bonfires. Fun, innocent times.

When I was growing up you couldn’t get Coors in Washington state. Something about refrigeration? So if anyone went to Idaho or California they always had to bring back a trunkful of Coors! I don’t get it, maybe it was just because you couldn’t get it here. My dad wouldn’t drink it because Coors was non-union. Always Ranier or Olympia.
