awww, congratulations! There is no love like that of a cat who adopts you. That is just my personal experience of course, but I believe that completely.
That’s how we sort of got a cat when we moved into a new condo. We were unpacking, taking boxes in from the truck and in walked a big orange guy. He made himself at home and decided no to leave. He spent the night, never peed on anything. In the morning he left but would keep coming back. We took him to the vet for shots, neutering, etc. We found out from the model home sellers and construction guys that this cat seemed to think he was the welcome wagon. He’s just move right in with the newest people or sleep in the models. One day he just stopped coming around. We found out later that a new guy started feeding him bologna and the cat had found his new forever home. I guess he wasn’t thrilled with just cat food the rest of us gave him. That was 28 yrs ago.
