This used to happen to me until I learned that when the whites of my cat’s eyes disappeared, he was in combat mode and it was time to back carefully away.Catitude.
Got two pound kitties. Built them an elaborate kitty gym. Never touched it. There’s way too much other interesting stuff to climb in the house. The Christmas tree was a hit.
Todays’ drama: Susan got a call from someone this morning that a cat had been hit by a car. She went to get it and starting calling vets. NONE are open in this county on Sat. She was on the way to the ER so I started calling and got the same answering service for nearly every vet or clinic.
I finally asked if ANYONE had Saturday hours. No, I was told.
I told Susan to check with a retired vet who keeps offering his services to us; she knew he was at PetCo (which is where she was headed when she got the call) so she stopped to see him. He checked the cat over and said he was sure it was “just” a broken jaw but no internal bleeding. She took kitty to the ER and was told the same thing. They gave him a pain shot and an antibiotic. She took him to PetCO and put him in a condo.
In the meantime, the man who adopted a cat 2 weeks ago and was supposed to pick it up at PetCO today called.(Kitty has been at Dr Susan’s all this time in foster care).
His car broke down and they were in a motel, not knowing when the car would be fixed. My guess is NOT TODAY. Nobody in UT works on Sat except stores and eateries. She leaves for CA on Monday.
Susan was going to take both cat to her house. To ease her burden, we stopped at PetCO and got foster kitty and brought him here for the week. We had been up near Cedar City with the cabinet maker making decisions on the new kitchen cabinets.
Lastly, Susan stopped here to pick up the bag of fluids that I had for Puddin’ Pop that she no longer needs.
The weekly shuffling is final:
1. injured kitty is with Susan2. foster kitty is with us3. our foster family with with Dr Susan going to CA4. Sara has Dr Susan’s foster kittens.5. and I still have Puddin’ Pop
Tomorrow is another day… fingers crossed nobody calls with “I have kittens and don’t know what to do” or " I saw a cat in the street" or a dozen other things.
If you ask me, Chesney & Lily maybe you should go back to the warehouse and BUY ANNIE a nice bouquet of flowers, (buy, “heist” whatever LOL) and beg forgiveness. I am sure she would take you back.

The kittens got a bath the other day. They weren’t too pleased, but they got over it quickly.
