After 16 days of rain in June (not all in a row, but it sure felt like it was) it finally stopped raining here in southern Wisconsin. And today (Sunday) is supposed to be another nice day. And it’s family cookout day! We’ve been planning this cookout for months – a sort of celebration of one year since our car accident, but not on the same date as the accident happened. It’s hard to believe it’s been a whole year since my sister Martha died and my other sister, brother Mark and I were in that rollover accident on the way home from the funeral. We’re looking forward to a great Sunday (a rare Sunday off work for me).

We are off to explore an old silver mining ghost town in 90+ degree heat with a group of rock enthusiasts. Not my choice for today but we have a ride with a friend whose truck will make the very rough steep 8 mile dirt road.

REACH your paw over and grasp the cup of milk by your own lazy self. Spoiled brat!!!

What a little devil.

I was in the basement surveying the water damage from the incessant rainfall when I heard a meow and looked up. Perched on the top shelf of some old storage shelves was my cat in one of his places to hide from scary storms.
