Annie’s groundhog day schedule.

…Thursday send Chesney to the loading dock… Friday clean up after kitties…

Annie’s future sounds a lot like mine, but I would add “feed kitties” to each day and every couple months it seems like I need to take one kitty or another to the vet. Lovebug’s ear infection is back. I had her at the vet on Tuesday and they took a culture of it to find out if there is another antibiotic we can try because her infection seems to be getting resistant to the Baytril drops. Those ear drops help, but they aren’t getting her better as fast as they did at first. I was hoping for results from that culture yesterday, but no call from the vet. I hope I hear something before they close at noon today so I can get her started on some treatment.

Today is:

National Gourmet Coffee Day. No thanks. I don’t like coffee.

National Use Your Gift Card Day. I don’t have any gift cards and even if I did, I wouldn’t be going shopping today because we just got some snow and sleet and the roads are bad. The only place I’ll be going today if I go anyplace at all, will be to the vet to get ear medicine for Lovebug.

National Winnie-the-Pooh Day. I like that bear, but I like Tigger and Eeyore even more. I related a lot to Eeyore when I was a kid.

Traditional Peking Duck is so time and labor intensive it needs to be ordered weeks in advance. Get your order in for Valentines now. I don’t have expensive coffee tastebuds so the cheap stuff is fine with me. I’m a Tigger fan, too. Such exuberance is charming. A very wise friend once told me that every group has an Eeyore, and this one lady is ours. I don’t need a thesarus to find words for that grumpy cat lady.

Yesterday, I had lunch with my cousin, the ultimate crazy cat lady who has seven rescues, and is a clean freak on top of that. She was talking about her cat care and cleanup schedule every day. Exhausting.

The kitties should really appreciate all that Annie does for them. (Well, I bet Oliver does, anyway.) On another note, saw a Stellar’s jay and some finches while out walking today. Also heard a woodpecker pecking on a tree.
