I wasn’t going to try this so soon, but yesterday, as I was petting CeeCee and sort of head butting with her, she seemed so receptive that I actually tried one more time picking her up. And she let me hold her for probably about a minute before she asked to be put down. She didn’t struggle or fight being held. She just indicated that she wanted down. I was hoping that eventually I could hold her at least briefly, because the day will come when I need to put her in a carrier and take her to the vet. I did get a very scant medical report on her, which appears to have come from a shelter or something where she was adopted. It says she was spayed in June of 2021 and at that time she had a one-year rabies vaccine. So she is due for a rabies shot. She tested negative for FELV and she was fully vaccinated for feline viruses. No mention was made of a microchip, so I’ll still need to have her scanned for a chip. If she has one, I need to update it. If she doesn’t have one, I can get one. They estimated her date of birth to be in December of 2019. Are kittens really ever born in December? None I’ve known of, but is it possible?

Update on Peppercorn:He is confined in his cage and seems to be better. He managed to take his cone off, and we managed to get it back on. The wrap over his Fentenyl (sp?) patch came off, and we replaced it with some surgical tape. He is urinating, but we never see him drink. Prior to the accident, he refused to drink from a bowl and would ask to have a trickle of water turned on in the bathroom sink were he wold drink. That’s not possible now, but I figure if he gets thirsty, he’ll drink from the bowl. He’s able to eat from his bowl, so he could drink) if he wanted to do so. He is urinating, and his bowels have moved. He sleeps most of the day. He wakes up to meow for food, then goes back to sleep again. Sunday we take the Fentenyl patch off.
