Considering that the title seems to be “Carrying The Urn” I suspect the occasion depicted is not a happy one. On the other hand, what would one expect from the artist of “Grave of a Suicide”?
better than at wrigley field where the cubs play. they couldn’t get the bathrooms ready during the renovation. few bathrooms, beer, hot summer day equals a cesspool. but, then again, the cubs are a cesspool. bunch of losers.
A somewhat enlarged image can be found at the only work, currently attributed this artist (may change), so far, to appear in Mr. Melcher’s blog (yesterday). Again, it is a slightly cropped image. A full, maybe-click-to-enlarge image can be found here (corrects attribution to Gustav Daniel Budkowski).Carrying The Urn or Figures Entering A Classical Tomb is privately owned.Perhaps that page shows no image due to embarrassment, concerning that sale (listing the first title). Its £95,200 sale price came after someone had faked the signature (at lower left behind little girl’s back leg).Since then, it has at least twice (the last time with the second title, with the signature detail in its Description) been put up for sale, listing the correct artist, at a much lower price; I’m not sure either sale was successful. The misattributed artist’s (Google translated) Polish Wikipedia page (Google translated) and collection (more under Subcategories).First work, attributed to this artist, to appear here. The actual artist currently has no Wikipedia page. This painting by him has a short bio. A bit more info about him can be found here (Google translated).
