As a former Revolutionary war reenactor, this is completely correct. I have friends who were more in to reenacting than I, and they actually had a rope bed. This is also where “feather beds” came into use.
I thought when you had too much to drink and then you went to bed, you slept tight.
Rope beds are real, but the suggestion that “sleep tight” has anything to do with them is a re-enactors’ myth.
