It’s always very sad to hear of a former classmate that you knew passing away.. Out of the 36 students that were in my class of 1967…at least a dozen of them have since passed away,,, If I don’t find myself in the daily obituary, I consider myself lucky for another day…..
This evokes the class lightning storm scene in Caddy Shack. The only good thing about having back problems is it forced me to give up golf 30 years ago.
Interesting. Two somewhat divergent views of playing golf. I have a cousin who used to be an avid golfer. He shies away from the links these days as his shoulders are giving him too much trouble. To make matters worse, he lives next to the course. It’s a good thing I don’t live near a soccer field, or I’d feel bad for not being able to hit the pitch. Now, I wonder who playing in the English Premier Soccer League?
Never tried golf (except miniature type) and never tried drugs. I saw how guys went crazy over both. I would hate to die over either one. Hope there is some significance or meaning in my passing when that happens. Probably too old to be in a situation where I would die saving someone’s life. I wouldn’t mind dying when going to Church or while at Church personally. However, dying doing something you like is not a bad way to go either. In any event, we rarely get to choose the moment…….
I walk enough now. I don’t need to hit a ball and chase it. I am content to walk my dog. She’s worth the world to me and cost way less than a set of heavy golf clubs.

I would like to pass away playing another kind of sport. If we can call sport “playing” with a lady.

I want to die quietly in my sleep, like my grandfather. Not screaming in terror, like the passengers in his airplane.

Bing Crosby loved golf and died on the golf course. Fate was kind to him as he had just completed his 18 holes and had won his match.

His buddy’s death really upset his playing partner. It took him 5 hours to complete his round; Hit the ball…drag buddy. Hit the ball…drag buddy.

I’m going to live forever! I don’t golf.
Actually, I played once and broke 100 by a few strokes. I don’t remember what I got on the second hole.

I go to every friend’s funeral. After all, if I don’t go to theirs, I can’t expect them to go to mine.

I would think Veeblefester and Mother Gargle are bigger threats to Brutus’ wellbeing than golf.
