Two farmers are talking and one is lamenting to the other. “Man, I’ve got all these cows and no bull to breed with them. It’s gonna cost me a fortune to rent bulls!”
The other farmer responds, “Don’t sweat it Joe, I’ve got tons of bulls. So tomorrow, pack your cows up in your truck and drive them down to my farm and we’ll let them go at it for a spell”
Delighted, the one farmer happily agrees. The next morning he wakes up, packs them all in his truck and drives them over to his buddy’s farm. He gets there and puts his cows in with the bulls and they go at it. You’ve never seen such mayhem. hooves and horns flying everywhere. While waiting, the one farmer asks the other “How will I know if my cows are pregnant?”.
“Well”, says his friend, “when you wake up tomorrow and you see any of your cows laying on their stomach, you’ll know it’s pregnant”
After they’re done, Joe takes his cows home and goes to bed. The next morning, he wakes to find none of his cows are lying down so he calls up his buddy. His friend tells him that it may take a few tries, so he packs up his cows in his truck and visits his friend again. And again the animals go at it like there’s no tomorrow. After a few hours he takes them home, and sure enough, the next day none of the cows are lying down, so he does it again.
Well, this series of disappointments goes on for a week til on the 8th day the farmer wakes, completely broken. He’s reluctant to go check on his cows so he tells his wife to check on them for him.
She walks to the window, stares out into the pasture, and stands there for a minute before returning back to her husband. He anxiously inquires, “Well? what did you see? Are any of the cows lying on their stomach?”
She looks at him bewilderingly and responds, “It’s the oddest thing. none of the cows are lying down. they’re all packed into the truck, and one’s honking the horn!”
