My husband (who has a hearing loss) claims crickets don’t make noise, because HE can’t hear them. I, on the other hand, have excellent hearing. Therefore, after we finished the basement and moved our bedroom down there, he would wake up during the night to find a naked woman with a flashlight hunting crickets with a shoe.
Believe me, crickets are nothing compared to the noise Cuban tree frogs can make at night. Seems like they have ‘conversations’ going back and forth while you’re trying to sleep. Useless to holler at them through the window screen, as they only quiet for about two-minutes then start over again. Exhausting.
