The worm is in Mescal, not Tequila.

The bar’s name “The Tequila Mockingbird” gave me a chuckle.

Teacher wants to demonstrate the effects of alcohol to her pre-teen students, so she puts two glasses on her desk, one filled with water, one filled with tequila. The she puts a worm in each glass. The worm in the alcohol almost immediately curls up and dies, but the worm in the water swims around happily.Teacher then asks the class, “And what do we learn from this?”Little Johnny stands up and says, “Teacher, it means if we drink booze, we won’t have worms!”

No, there isn’t “supposed to be a worm in that stuff”. The author is thinking of mezcal. The worm is a butterfly larvae and is not a desirable addition, but when not discarded, is a marketing ploy.

The early bird gets the worm, but the early worm gets caught. So if you’re a worm always be late.

When I spent a lot of time working in MX, I often had many shots with salt and lime, but I always finished the night with a couple of Kalua and Presidente (half and half). I sill like those in chilly weather.
