Like Mark Zuckerberg, they both had original ideas that no one else had thought of, worked hard to bring them to market, and they took off like rocket ships. I may not like either of them much, but I respect a system that allows them to make a handsome profit from their inventions. Also, they both employ hundreds of thousands of people, so good job gentleman.
Bezos is said to have browsed a dictionary for a word beginning with A for the value of alphabetic placement. He selected the name Amazon because it was exotic and different and as a reference to his plan for the company’s size to reflect that of the Amazon River, one of the largest rivers in the world.

Amazon is an odd name!

The Bezos Amazon company has many faults, but the deforestation of the actual Amazon was more about converting it to grazing land for cattle ranching.

If you look at their logo “Amazon” you will notice that the curved arrow goes from “a” to “z”. That infers that they sell all items “from A to Z”.

How relentless!

Nothing good comes from cutting down the tropical forests. Amazon loss causes some of this damage to our environment.

That looks like the last stand of trees after the deforestation, not the Amazon forest.

The original 1994 name for what became Amazon was Cadabra. Which was later deemed to sound too much like “cadaver.”

None of the Amazon boxes come from Brazilian trees. This is just silly.

Later on, the cardboard boxes would find use as cat beds.
