I just ordered a book the other day from Amazon entitled: “Selling Sickness: How The World’s Biggest Pharmaceutical Companies are Turning Us All Into Patients”. It hopefully arrives today. Should be interesting.
My brother had that. Along with ADHD, dyslexia and psychopathic tendencies (he made a point of showing off a pair of kittens he had disembowled with a kitchen knife). He was not “just being a kid.” We tried to help him but after he beat up the therapist we felt it best for the criminal justice system to just take him. He was in and out until he rolled his car one night on the 101. He was ejected from the vehicle “Seat belts are for wu$$ie$” and was run over by a semi.
I used to be a cub leader (cubscout leader to Americans) and I got the impression that some parents liked to label their child’s behavioural issues with a medical term so clearly, “there was nothing they could do about it.” Possibly I’m just cynical.

I’ve been acting like an impulsive uncontrollable child all my life. Why hasn’t anyone offered me really good meds?

Not all kids are terrors. I sometimes think that those that are get it from their parents.
