As long ago as the 80s, when I was a commuter in L.A. I routinely saw women putting on mascara in their rear view mirror or guys reading the paper while driving in bumper to bumper freeway traffic. The only thing that’s changed is the technology. People, by and large, are no stupider now than they were then.
Once overheard a young (blonde) lady say that she loved the iPhone, but the touch-screen keyboard (as opposed to old-fashioned buttons) made it very difficult to drive while texting …
Yes Number 6 a good fender bender will bring out the Christmas Cheer. Bronx, rasberry and the famous middle finger. So watch out for the idiots who don’t signal!
Its been over a year since our province banned distracted driving. Included in that ban was phones, texting, the usual doing the makeup, shaving, etc. There was a big push for ‘hands free’. At work – our policy has been since the advent of cell phones – to tell the person we will call back if they are driving. I have hung up on a lot of people. .People still haven’t gotten the message. At least not the drivers. They get so annoyed when you slam a hand or fist on the hood of their car. And I have seen a lot of walkers slam the drivers for using the cell phone and texting.
I once was pulling out to make a left from a parking lot. Got about half way into the turn and watched a woman, talking on her cell phone, looking to her left and not at me, pull across the center line and drive right into me. Told the officer reporting what happened. And I got a ticket. Watch yourself. Don’t want to be guilty of allowing the idiots to be morons.

I have often wished dire consequences on people texting or talking on their cells when driving – perhaps a loss of limb will teach them a lesson!
