As it turns out, the fact that it's waterproof isn't an advantage of superglue as a hair product. Sadly, that would have been it's only advantage, too.
When I was a kid (Junior High age) I dressed as a 50’s dude for Halloween – jeans, black boots, white T-shirt and leather jacket. Not knowing any better (like Toby) I put Vaseline in my hair to slick it back. Took days to wash it all out.

Just use lotion. It will break down the bond and once apart you can just rub more in to remove it.
