There was a time in this country when trick or treating was meant to keep older kids from destructive ‘pranks’. Anyway, on years when I can afford to give out candy (not this year, sadly), I hand it out to anyone who wears a costume and says ‘trick or treat’. Candy as bribery!

It may come as a surprise to Eddie to learn that the neighbors know when it’s him, too.

But it IS a great costume. Now what he needs to do is make a Toby costume for Eddie.

My rule is as long as you’re wearing a costume and say ‘trick or treat’ you get candy. No age limit.

Why not give candy to teenagers? At least they’re not out getting into trouble, and who doesn’t like dressing up for Halloween?

That just might work. Has anyone ever received a rock, or are the adults in Charlie Brown’s neighborhood the only ones who did that?
