    Wasn’t expecting a teenage boy’s first thought to be “it’s a stick.”

The chopped down cherry tree monument wasn’t considered impressive

Most memorials of recent history should have the lifespan of a bouncy house.

FYI, The pyramids in Egypt and the Washington Monument were planted at the same time. Too dry in Egypt, so they didn’t grow. The weather in Washington was perfect for growing pyramid plants. Until, the one prolonged drought. That is why one part of the monument is whiter than the rest. It has reached maturity and will get no taller, however, it does try to spread out… I live in DC, and I know all the truths about our historic landmarks!

I’ve always thought it was a pretty weird design for honoring Washington too.

I mean, the pyramids technically aren’t “triangles” Not a big deal, though.
