Means “it wasn’t cool.” It wasn’t gross or disreputable either, just – - – monochrome.

There is a great tradition to this mystery. Many years back there was a sitcom, The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet. No one had a clue what Ozzie did for a living but he wasn’t the only one. Many of the shows had fathers that worked in an office without any specifics. With Ozzie, it wasn’t even hinted what he did, he was always home.

He thinks he remembers you saying you “BLAH BLAH BLAH” or something like that.

You mean being a character in a comic is just a side hustle?

Actually if I remember right he hangs around the water cooler all day gabbing with his co-worker.

I’m a Software Developer/Consultant for business systems. I tell my kids I hack NASA for a living… they are in High School now, and know better, but we still joke about it. LOL

Only boring people get bored, and only uninteresting people are uninterested.

Waaaay back when people were served decent meals on airplanes my father was supervisor of a major airlines’ flight kitchen. I remember as a VERY little girl going with him for one reason or another, and all the wonderful smells. I’ve worked in numerous industrial/commercial kitchens since then (so many that the only father -daughter we ever had was him warning me as a teenager that food service was a tough way to make a living) and I still love the smell. I’ve figured out that that signature scent, when no currently-cooking dishes overwhelm is the oils from coffee and pepper. I still volunteer for food service with my church and love giving dinner parties. I’m forever grateful that my Dad shared his work with me.
