But if they cleaned up after themselves then there would be no work for the sanitation workers, who would then be laid off, increasing the ranks of the unemployed.

chahn: [citation needed] Also, I love the right-wing knee-jerk inclusion of ACORN as the default boogeyman.

Interesting, a strip complaining about Occupy Wall St. Bashing that goes on to Bash the Constitution Party. That’s right folks, Tea Party is not the official name of the movement. It is a derogatory term slapped on them by the leftist liberal media, which the artist here is obviously a part of. This artist goes on to call them Tea Baggers an even more exagerated deragory statement. Seems to me that this artist has no creddibility to make any statements regarding the bashing of anybody. Get a life.

Being a Libertarian who appreciates the origins of the Tea Party (and not the crummy groups calling themselves that who have been co-opted by social conservatives!) I appreciate this toon as a backhanded slap at both groups.

What the “Occupy” groups remind me of is a few quotes…

A liberal is someone who feels a great debt to his fellow man, which debt he proposes to pay off with your money. – G. Gordon Liddy

A government which robs Peter to pay Paul, can always count on the support of Paul. – George Bernard Shaw

The national budget must be balanced. The public debt must be reduced; the arrogance of the authorities must be moderated and controlled. Payments to foreign governments must be reduced. If the nation doesn’t want to go bankrupt, people must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance. – Marcus Tullius Cicero, 55 BC

But then, Tom Lehrer, unlike most satirists, is quite capable (even eager) to lambaste his own inconsistencies, not just those of people he disagrees with.
