As an ex-soldier I cannot approve of what happened but I can understand it.This is primal behavior. Someone tries to kill you, you kill him instead, instant adrenalin rush. Some guys laugh, some cry, some do stupid stuff.

It’s a hard pill to swallow, but unless you yourself have been there and done that do not be so quick to pass judgement.
