Evelyn: I'd like to know aobut your "Trap, neuter and return" program for feral cats. Woman: Here's how it works...we lend you one of our traps. You bait it, catch the cat, and bring it in. We neuter it and you release it back where you caught it. Evelyn: Tell me....do you find that the cats forgive the people for doing this to them? Woman: In time...perhaps with counseling... Yes, they forgive you if you feed them. But you might have trouble trapping them again for their next rabies shot (the first of which should have been given at the time of the surgery).

Yes, they will forgive you. Though, depending on the circumstances of the trap, it may take a while. And they will have a much better life without the “need to breed”. All our cats at the colony that I help out at have been TNR’d. And they are doing very well.
