I doubt Bertha would be able to actually see if her knees were together or not.

To explain: this cartoon is poking fun at a comment made by Foster Friess, a wealthy investor bankrolling a super PAC for Rick Santorum. Friess stated in an interview that “This contraception thing, my gosh, it’s so inexpensive. You know, back in my days, they’d use Bayer aspirin for contraceptives. The gals put it between their knees and it wasn’t that costly.” So, see, the birth control pill those girls used was simple aspirin. Of course, the insinuation is that any woman who doesn’t want to get pregnant is a slut who ought to keep her knees together.

But take heart. You are not the only one who didn’t get it: http://www.mediaite.com/online/foster-friess-aspirin-as-birth-control-joke-retroactively-blamed-for-teen-pregnancy/

Gee. How much does the taxpayer spend on planned parenthood, so these whiney witches can get birth control for FREE! Reproductive rights? Gimmie a break. How about some reproductive responsibility, as in pay for it YOURSELF!

Hey! Lots of people who had a single parent on welfare turned out just fine! Don’t stereotype. Our biggest problem is providing adequate jobs, housing, education, food and medical care to all people, that’s how birth numbers come down. But, that means justice and fairplay for all, not just the 1%.
